Chicken a la Carte

MY REFLECTIONS(:
1.What reactions and feelings do you have after watching the clip?
OMG`this is too sad..I really feel very sad after watching this video. They are so pity.I felt guilty because I have been wasting food.I was really shocked to see they children in the video snatching the food in the rubbish bin; and what they are going to eat are those food that other people throw away as rubbish. They looked happy as they found some food to eat(they are tooooo hungry~).I think people should watch this video so that they will understand that when we are wasting food, there are so many people in the world who are still hungry and there's no food for them to eat/so we should appreciate what we have now.I will not waste any food in future too.):
2.Why do you think some people are so poor while others are rich?
I think it will depend on the country they are in.Some countries are very rich, while some countries are poor.
3.Do you think what is happening in the video is fair? If not, what can be done to stop it? If you think its fair, why do you say so?
I think it is not fair.I think people who are more fortunate who have the previledge to eat fresh and delicious food should not be wasting their food.Because many people who are in the poorer countries do not even have food to eat!So we must be more considerate~

Influenza A virus-H1N1

What are the symptoms of swine flu?
The symptoms of swine flu are similar to those of influenza and of influenza-like-illnesses in general, namely chills, fever, sore throat, muscle pains, severe headache, coughing, weakness and general discomfort.

How is it spread? Through food? Is it airborne?
Influenza viruses can be directly transmitted from pigs to people and from people to pigs. Human infection with flu viruses from pigs are most likely to occur when people are in close proximity to infected pigs, such as in pig barns and livestock exhibits housing pigs at fairs. Human-to-human transmission of swine flu can also occur. This is thought to occur in the same way as seasonal flu occurs in people, which is mainly person-to-person transmission through coughing or sneezing of people infected with the influenza virus. People may become infected by touching something with flu viruses on it and then touching their mouth or nose.Swine flu cannot be spread by pork products, as the virus is not transmitted through food.

What is the current pandemic alert level as indicated by the WHO? Do you think Singapore is at risk?
The current pandemic alert level has raised to ORANGE. I think Singapore is not at risk of getting affected by the global influenza. Those people who are getting into singapore are checked very strictly at the airport by inspectors to prevent the virus from spreading in Singapore.Hospitals and clinics are also raising the level of hygience. It is compulsory for schools to conduct temperature exercises during school hours. We are doing so many precautions to prevent the spreading of virus into Singapore.

What are your thoughts and feelings towards this event? Are you afraid? Confident in the government? Worried about your relatives? Ambivalent? Happy that schools may be closed?
I feel sad for those who were infected by the influenza as many had passed away.I am not so afraid as I have confidence in the government.Currently, there are also no cases of people being infected by the virus in Singapore. However I was worried about my relatives in other countries that are affected by the influenza.I hope that the situation will get better soon.
